STRAWBERRY SALAD OR IS IT DESSERT?

By Cindy Goff

I’m not sure why they call this STRAWBERRY SALAD when it’s really more like a dessert.  The recipe is so easy and makes ALOT!  I put some in a Graham Cracker Crust and had so much left over that I put it in a Longaberger Medium Mixing Bowl and froze the rest.  Had enough left that we shared it at our Branch Meeting too.  Yumo!

FROZEN STRAWBERRY SALAD

  • 1 bag frozen sliced stawberries – thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese – softened (I used light)
  • 8 oz cool whip
  • 3/4 cup sugar (I used 1/2 a cup and it was plenty sweet!)
  • mini marshmallows

Mix cream cheese and sugar.  Add strawberries.  Add marshmallows to mixture ( you can vary the amount depending on how much you like marshmallows).  Fold in cool whip.  Pour mixture into freezable serving container until ready to serve (I put part of it into the pie crust and froze it).  Thaw 1/2 hour to and hour (or you can leave it in the refrigerator for a few hours) before serving.

Did you know that Longaberger Pottery takes on the temperature of where it lives?  So in other words…it keeps it’s temperature for a long time, be it hot or cold or room temperature.  So be sure you put this DESSERT/SALAD in Longaberger Pottery so that it STAYS cold longer!  Enjoy!
