Some friends come & some friends go…
Longaberger has brought so many wonderful people into my life. One such friend is Janet, who lives in So California. I met her at a meeting of basket consultants about 18 years ago, when we both lived in the Bay Area. I was the “guest speaker” representing another Direct Selling Company.
Janet and I found we had a lot in common. Our love of family and home, decorating and shopping! A few years went by and Janet was moving to Ohio (that much closer to Longaberger!). She encouraged me to become a consultant; actually she told me she wouldn’t sell me another basket, that I could become a consultant and support my basket habit as well as make extra income for my growing family. LOL ! It was a done deal…off she went to Ohio and I became a consultant. That was 15 years ago, and I had no idea we would soon be moving too…and Longaberger moved right along with us to the Pacific Northwest.
Janet and I have since met several times back at our old stomping grounds as well as visited back and forth when we can. Last week she came to Portland to visit family, so we headed up to the Cheesecake Factory and met up for lunch. It was son #2′s 27th birthday, so Seth and Lincoln came along as well.
While Janet is no longer a consultant, she is still my friend and now she is my customer as well! I’m glad Janet asked me all those years ago….it’s been a great opportunity for me.
