RECIPE TO GROW EASTER GRASS
Add some green to your spring decorating and grow some grass. Yes, I said grass. LOL You don’t have to be limited to just Easter….it’s fun all year long. I love to add these to pots and baskets and watch ‘em grow.
Here’s what you will need:
- Wheat Grass Seed (typically found at Health Food Stores), Clay Pot or Longaberger Protector and Potting Soil
- Fill the container, leaving a good amount of space at the top (at least 3″). As the grass grows, it will push up the dirt. If you don’t leave enough space, dirt will fall out of the container onto your tabletop.
- Put in a layer of wheat grass on top of the soil. Cover the seeds with a bit of potting soil. You don’t need much soil, just enough to cover the seeds.
- Make a 2nd layer of grass seed and soil.
- Water well and keep the soil moist. If your pot doesn’t have any drainage, use a spray bottle rather than over water.
- Grow in a bright room…in the sun is best.
- It will need a “haircut” soon! Kids love this!
