Went to Portland and Monticello Antique Marketplace a couple of weeks ago. Oh just wow! Such a fun shopping experience and I came away with a great find. A Vintage Longaberger Medium Key Basket from 1981! Love the old time color and wondering where it’s been in the last 30 years! A few of the vendors from Aunt Bee’s House and American Country Mercantile have booths at Monticello’s too. Definitely worth a road trip!

Happy Birthday Art! The Breckel’s celebrated in a BIG way with family and friends enjoying a Birthday Bash for Art’s 90th. Say Potluck and everyone joined in…even some “vintage Longaberger” showed up with casseroles in them.

The Cake Basket is a great carrier for all things. It’s a basket that has been around for many years and is one of the original J.W. Longaberger Baskets. It’s the perfect go to basket to carry a bowl of salad, baked beans or even a CAKE to any occasion. The swing handles make for easy loading. A Protector is a must with this basket…you can fill it with ice and keep your bowl of food cold for several hours. Add some ice and you can load it up with drinks too. I Spy A Longaberger Basket…

I thought it would be fun to add this catagory to the blog so that we can all share basket sightings across the country. Send me a picture and I’ll post it as well as a message from you about where you spotted a Longaberger Basket. Let’s see how many we can get from coast to coast. I’m including the first one from our weekend at the Oktoberfest.

This past weekend was Oktoberfest in Mt Angel, Oregon. It’s a little bitty German town that grows to 300,000+ during the 4 day celebration. We went on Thursday for the opening ceremony and were delighted with school children and their families doing the May Pole Dance. From babies to girls in dirndl dresses and old men all decked out in traditional lederhosen, it was festive and fun! Good ‘ole bratwurst and singing our hearts out in the biergarten took us back to our days in Germany. What a fun day!
