AN AMERICAN COLLECTION
I’ve had a few people ask me how I got my name for this website. It’s a tradition to name your group when you become a Longaberger Leader. So I picked American Spirit and later added the “and Friends” due to my open door policy with other Longaberger consultants. The more the merrier!
The name really made sense, since I have been collecting All American items for about 25 years. It’s the perfect fit for a girl who loves, RED, BLUE and STARS! My favorites are anything primitive and with texture. Like metal stars, flags, pillows, quilts and of course Longaberger! One of my very first basket purchases back in the 80’s (did I just admit that?!) was a 1988 All American Cake Basket. It’s got the old patina of use, smooth handle and all, and is still used in my home office today. See my post from AUGUST 2009 No Empty Nesters Here.
